Darlene Hanson, RRT – Lead Instructor

Darlene worked in the Respiratory Care field in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area for 15 years where she focused on children, and then became involved in the world of wound care where she has practiced for the last 10 years. Darlene got her first taste of motorcycling on a mini bike at age 12 and has been hooked ever since. She finally got her very own bike in 2004, quickly moving up to her 2006 Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic ‘The Rose”. Handling such a large bike had her quickly looking to other women to for support and help, which she found in the ladies of the Chrome Angels, an all-women motorcycle social riding organization dedicated to helping women and children. Darlene is now the Co-Director of the Chrome Angels. She puts 8,000 – 10,000 miles a year on her bike between charity work and riding with her boyfriend. Darlene totally believes that the more we know, the safer we can ride. This is what led to her interest in ASMI in the spring of 2010. Darlene took her basic class and was so impressed that she signed up for the advanced class during the lunch break. She then followed up with instructor training in September 2010 and looks forward to sharing this knowledge with all riders!
