Jimmie D. “Tyke” Barham, Jr. – Assistant Instructor

Tyke Barham has been riding motorcycles since his first dirt bike around the age of 10 or 11. He started by racing dirt bikes locally in the Greensboro, NC area in the early 70s, and over the years has owned motorcycles of all makes and models. After a brief hiatus (the “obligatory” break to raise his family, acquiring a pilot’s license along the way), he started back into motorcycling with a Honda CBR 650, then an ’81 Ironhead Sportster, and a series of touring bikes before his current ride – a 2008 Harley-Davidson Road Glide. Tyke has been involved with teaching the Bystander Assistance Classes since 2000 and welcomes every opportunity to share this knowledge with other motorcyclists across the country.
