As we all prepare to close out 2023 and celebrate the start of a New Year, it is a good time to pause and reflect on all that has happened in the last twelve months. Road Guardians definitely had many exciting things happening this past year, and we couldn’t do them without you! Here is a quick synopsis as we brag just a little bit about some of the many things WE (members, Instructors, ASM staff, and sponsors) have achieved in 2023.
CAPCE Accreditation
Accident Scene Management is now accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of PreHospital Continuing Education! To find out more click here.
Not only is this a feather in our cap, but it also means that our curriculum has met stringent requirements and oversight. When a student takes our course, they can know the information they receive is not only vetted, but continually reviewed to be meeting current verifiable trends. There are other “pop-up” motorcycle first aid programs, but ours is the only accredited program that is overseen by medical professionals (that also ride!).
New Personnel And Instructors
We added one new part-time office employee to help with the rise in classes being registered, and students being taught, as well as help with social media outreach so students can more easily find classes. We also added twenty two new Instructors around the United States! There are still many areas that are not covered, so if you know of anyone who is a medical professional (EMT or higher), a motorcycle rider, and would make great Instructor send them here for more information.
In addition to our U.S. Instructors, we have three Instructors in South Africa, two in Australia, one in the Philippines and we are actively working with a college in Ontario, Canada to get our program going there. Zimbabwe and Liberia (both English speaking countries) have contacted us with interest to start our program, they are awaiting funding. Click HERE to see a list of our International Instructors.
Working With State DOTs
The Nevada project has been completed! You can read all about it HERE
The Nevada project helped other states to see the need for our program and commit funds to 2024 classes. As of now, South Dakota has approved a grant for eight classes and Wisconsin has approved a grant for six classes of 30 students each. Students will pay only $25.00 and get a free sport trauma pack when they complete their training. Do you want your state to be on this list? Contact us here so we can help you learn how.
Road Guardian Gatherings
We held two Road Guardian gatherings, one during the Harley 120th Anniversary in Milwaukee, WI and the other during the Sturgis Rally in South Dakota. We hope to do more in 2024!
Working Together
The more motorcyclists we get trained, the better off we will all be! Please consider donating before the end of the year and help us to keep our mission going. We are a 501c3 Non-Profit organization, so all donations are tax deductible! Donate Here
Thank you for taking this ride with us, we hope to see you in 2024!
