A Group’s Guide for Hosting an Accident Scene Management Class
Bring hands-on crash-scene training to your club, chapter, dealership, or membership. Here’s how hosting works, what it costs, and what we’ll need from you.
Accident Scene Management (ASM) instructors can be hired to teach a class. Groups that have hired instructors tell us they’ve been very pleased to offer their membership a service like this — certified professional instructors bring both their knowledge and the supplies needed for our full-day, 8-hour first response class.
The class is typically taught 9am–5pm on a weekend, though it can also be split across two 4-hour sessions. The normal class fee is $100–$150 per student, depending on the number of students and the location of the class.

Hire an instructor directly
If you need an instructor and don’t have one locally, ASM can work with you to bring one to you. In this case, we’d need you to guarantee a class of up to 20 students.

Most of our sponsors cover half the class cost plus lunch, which brings it to about $50 per student. And it costs nothing to check.
More than 20 students? If your space allows for additional students, we can look at it — but first we need to confirm a 2nd instructor or course assistant is available and that your space will accommodate a larger group. That takes a conversation before we can quote a price.
The $2,000 Basic class fee includes

- An event registration page
We’ll also work with you to promote the class.
What we’ll need from you
All methods of hosting an ASM class assume that you:
- Provide space for the class.
- Provide any refreshments.
- Fill the class with students. We’ll assist you with promotion.
Space requirements
Securing the facility is up to you. Before you send us dates, please confirm your space meets these requirements — full details are in our Room & AV Requirements sheet.
- A room that accommodates 20 students classroom-style, with tables and chairs.
- Enough floor space to practice hands-on skills on the floor.
- An HDMI-capable LED screen (or projector with screen) — your instructor presents from the front of the room.
- One 6-to-8-foot table at the front of the room.
- 1–4 tables at the back of the room for registration and product display or sales.
Offer the class to your membership first, then invite others to join you — it benefits you to fill your class.
Paying for the class
We have sponsors nationwide, and we’re always happy to check whether there’s one in your area — just ask. Most of our sponsors cover half the class cost plus lunch, which brings it to about $50 per student. A few sponsor at a lower level or don’t include lunch, so we’ll confirm the exact figure for your class before you take it to your group.
We also have students sign up and pay us directly — whatever we collect from students reduces your amount due.
Deposit and balance
A 50% deposit is required to officially book your class and hold your date. If your class is sponsored, this part is taken care of — the sponsor places the deposit and settles their share of the cost with us directly, so you won’t be required to put down any money up front.
If a deposit is made by the group hosting an unsponsored class, the deposit is non-refundable if the group cancels for any reason; if we cancel for any reason, it’s refunded. Any remaining balance is due 2 weeks before the class, so that materials can be sent out and final arrangements made.
How it works, step by step

Print or download the group handout - Secure your facility. Find a space that meets the room and AV requirements above — this part is yours to arrange.
- Send us 2–3 potential dates with a 60-90 day lead time along with your location.
- We create your class in our event management system and send you links to distribute to your group.
- We build a flyer and a Facebook event for you to use for promotion.
