Now in it’s 18th year the RG River Run gives plenty of time to ride while adding the social aspect and fun that a gathering on motorcyclists brings. The event officially begins on the Great River Road in McGregor, IA with a street dance. McGregor is right across the Mississippi River from our hotels that are in Prairie du Chien. The entire area is friendly and has feels as if you have taken a step back in time. McGregor will block off a couple streets for motorcycle only parking. There are many great places to get a bite to eat and many shops including a “tin type” photographer if you want a unique picture of yourself. At the top of the bluff, just a few miles from McGregor is a free State Park called “Pike’s Peak”. The view from Pike’s Peak is spectacular! You can see for miles where the Mississippi, Black and Wisconsin River’s meet. If you feel like walking you can also hike to a waterfall.
We have put together Poker Run stops via beautifully twisty roads. Wildcat Mtn, Wild Things Fur, Down a Country Road Amish Village, Great River Road Bar & Grill, Tazee’s Bar & Grill and Driftless Microbrewery are some of the recommended and Poker Run stops along the 165 mile Poker Run route. By Saturday night we all gather at Huckelberry’s for a banquet, auction and more music. Prizes and Stories of the day will abound as new and old friendships collide. For many this is an annual event. If you have not joined us before, why not give it a whirl? All proceeds from the event benefit Accident Scene Management and help us train more students and professionals in Motorcycle Trauma First Response.

What is Road Guardians? Road Guardians is a group of concerned motorcyclists who believe that motorcycle safety includes proper first response. Much focus has been placed on preventing a crash (as it should) but RG’s believe that our goal should be to achieve zero fatalities and to do that we must include first response training.. Road Guardians is not a club. We do not have mandatory meetings or events however, we encourage members to get together and to help us spread safety messages and training opportunities. RG’s $20/year dues help our organization with operations, outreach and furthering of our program and mission.
