Senator Wayne Allard, DVM has served 26 years in elected office. Dr. Allard served 8 years in the Colorado State Senate, 6 years in the U.S. House of Representatives and 12 years in the U.S. Senate. Currently, he is Vice President of Government Relations for the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA). Prior to his election to the U.S. House of Representatives Dr. Allard had his own veterinary practice in Loveland, Colorado specializing in companion animals and had served as part-time health officer for the city. During his time in private practice he was Chairman of the Loveland Chamber of Commerce Legislative Affairs Committee and Chair of the Larimer County Board of Health.
Dr. Allard was board certified by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners Companion Animals. He published several scientific papers on small animal medicine.
Dr. Allard is married to Joan and they have 2 daughters with 7 grandchildren.
